Why address hand ageing?

With aging and sun damage, the skin on our hands can become dry with loss of elasticity and volume. Pigmentation appears (age spots) and loss of fat in the hand and wasting of the muscles leads to thinning of the fingers, prominence of the knuckles, veins and tendons. As our hands our frequently on show looking after their appearance is a worthwhile investment.

What are the non-surgical treatment options for hand ageing?

Our clinic offers a range of treatments for hand rejuvenation. These include:

• Injection of dermal fillers to replace soft tissue loss and to hydrate the skin on the hands. In most of our clients we use Radiesse® and Ellanse® dermal fillers as they reliably produce the best results. 
• Sculptra® can be used to stimulate collagen production and replace volume loss in the hands. 
• Profhilo®, a revolutionary new filler, is an effective means of increasing hydration and collagen stimulation.
• Hydrating dermal fillers can make a considerable difference to the appearance of our hands. We use Juvederm Volite® and Restylane Skin Booster® for hand hydration.  
• Platelet Rich Plasma facilitates hand rejuvenation by releasing growth factors that stimulates skin cell growth and underlying soft tissue.
• Chemical peels and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can effectively address pigmentation issues (age spots). 
• Use of topical skin products and as well as regular application of SPF50 can help improve the appearance of the skin on the hands.

What are common side effects of the injectables treatments used for hand rejuvenation?

Common side effects of dermal filler, Sculptra® and PRP include mild bruising and swelling. Typically these side effects resolve within a few days post treatment.
