Non-surgical lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that increases the lips fullness and definition through the injection of dermal filler or fat taken from elsewhere on the client’s body.
As we age our lips lose volume and definition, lines surrounding the mouth area can also begin to appear. Client who have had excessive sun exposure and/ or are smokers are more likely to develop lines around the mouth prematurely.
Dermal filler injected into the lips can increase their volume a well as add definition. An alternative treatment option is fat injection which will produce longer lasting results. Lines surrounding the mouth can be corrected using dermal filler which effectively lifts and fills these lines out. Dermal filler can also be combined with Botox to achieve optimal results.
We offer a range of dermal fillers for lip augmentation. These include Juvederm® range (Juvederm smile®, Juvederm Ultra 3®, Juvederm Ultra 4® and Juvederm Volift®) and Restylane range (Restylane® and Restylane Silk®), Teosyal Lip®.
Typically, the results achieved with dermal fillers lasts between 3 and 6 months. Factors such as type of dermal filler injected, our body’s metabolism and immune system will all affect how long results will last.
The most common side effect of dermal filler injection for lip augmentation is swelling. This typically subsides within a few days post treatment. Other less common side effects include bruising, lumpiness and uneven lips. Our clinic endeavours to take all possible precautions to avoid/minimise such complications.
The procedure is performed by Dr Baba, a highly trained and experienced aesthetic doctor who is also a senior trainer for this procedure at London Aesthetic Academy (www.londonaestheticacademy.co.uk)
