With age the labia majora (the outermost lips surrounding the vagina) loses its youthfulness and can become lax and somewhat deflated due to tissue loss. Changes in this region can be worsened following childbirth and menopause, leading to both cosmetic and functional concerns in women. The treatment works in a similar way to lip and facial fillers, to boost volume, reduce wrinkles, add elasticity and to improve the appearance of the vaginal area without surgery using Dermal Fillers (Desirial® Plus or Juvederm® Voluma).
At Croydon Cosmetic Clinic the following steps are followed;
We offer a FREE consultation with our consultant doctor to determine the suitability of procedure and exclude the contraindications. During the consultation, the doctor will be able to best determine the amount of filler that will be required to achieve optimal results. Every person is different; however, we recommend a minimum of 2ml as a starting point.
1. On your arrival you will be asked to complete the relevant consent forms. 2. Photography of the treatment area. 3. Application of topical anaesthetic to numb the treatment area. 4. Once the treatment area is numbed, Dermal Filler (Desirial® Plus or Juvederm ® Voluma) is injected using micro-cannula. This advance minimally-invasive technique reduces the complications. 5. Following the procedure, the treatment area is massaged for the even distribution of the filler. 6. Post treatment photographs to ascertain the results of the treatment.
1. Ice packs may be applied to reduce the swelling and bruising. 2. Clients are advised to refrain from sexual intercourse for 1 week. 3. Avoid taking aspirin for 1 week (unless required for medical purposes). 4. Avoid extreme temperatures (sauna, etc.) for 1 week. 5. Clients are advised not to wash the treatment area on the same day following the procedure. 6. To manage any feelings of discomfort following the procedure oral paracetamol two to three times daily after meals is usually sufficient. Do not take any anti-inflammatory drugs (unless required for medical purposes) such as Nurofen (ibuprofen).
