Forehead wrinkles are the lines that appear horizontally across the forehead. These can be dynamic (only present during facial expression) or static (present even when the face is at rest).
There are many factors that can contribute to the development of forehead wrinkles. These include aging, UV skin damage, smoking as well as genetic factors.
Botox® injection is an effective treatment for reducing /eliminating the appearance of forehead lines. However, the best results with Botox® are achieved for treating dynamic lines (lines only present during facial contraction). For static and deeper lines, Botox® in conjunction with dermal filler can produce the best results. Forehead wrinkles can also be treated without the use of Botox®. Such treatments include microneedling (Dermapen, Dermastamp and Dermaroller), chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments.
